It's the end of December Already

Hello Everybody.   It is Saturday December 29th and the time is flying.   I will begin by saying that last Monday was the most miserable day that we have been here.  The temperature here was 104F and the humidity was about 70%.  It was so hot and humid that you couldn't function properly.  There is no a/c anywhere except in Neil's backhoe and he was doing just fine.  That night was family worship night and everyone came home from work, took cold showers, went to family worship and came home and took cold showers again.  It was difficult for everyone to sleep, but then it poured down rain and cooled off and it has been nice since.  Very odd weather.  Yesterday was sad again,
another couple left.  An electrician and his wife.  She  was in cleaning/housekeeping.  So, chicken burgers, french fries, ice cream and Coke.  We  have new brothers here now for one month and perhaps extending to three months.  They are all so excited to be invited and some even know English.  Also Neil had a demonstration on the service meeting Thursday night on the part about the new website, jw.org.  He was the third demonstration  about  the person who didn't understand the language.  Although that is true, it still was funny because the brother kept talking in Spanish anyway.

Now with the latest photos.  I will load them and tell what I do know.  I am always in the dining room and kitchen and Neil is working today so I don't know what all of them are technically.  Generally, they are the assembly hall.

This is Neil setting trusses on the school.

In the back is the red roof going on the school.

Inside of assembly hall.

This assembly hall is like ours only much bigger.  This is the the half circle platform with block in place.

This is Neil digging a hole.  He is always digging and I never remember what. Sometimes it is trenches, sometimes it is road work, but he's always digging.

Here is one of his holes.

It rains a lot and here is where some of the water goes.

These are non-JW's working on the roof of the assembly hall.

I am going to leave the construction site and show you some of the sites of our home in Canuelas.

Apple tree.

Our pool.  We have never gotten in.  On that Monday last week, it was empty for cleaning.

This is the bottom of the pool.

The property here is breathtaking.  Brothers come from Bethel Argentina here to stay for the weekend just to get away from the city.  It is so peaceful and beautiful.  We love having Canuelas as our home while living in Canuelas.

This is the walkway to our house.

Last weekend one of the IS's taught me how to make paper.  That was fun and very interesting.  When I get home, I have to teach Myah.  She will love it.

It looks like I'm just standing there but I did help.

This is the paper drying.  It was more fun than watching paint dry though.

More of the Canuelas Property

Well, that is about it for this week.  Not a lot of action with  Gaston & Gabby.  They have been gone a lot on vacation and having family visiting.  Every day is funny.  There is a joke now in English that when he gets crazy (all the time) I say "I'm going to tell Danny." (the home overseer).  Then he says, "I tell Rob"  (The construction overseer.)  Then I say, "I'm telling Jehova". And it always ends there.

The only new food lately was a couple of IS's from Wisconsin made apple french toast for breakfast last week.  Some boys at our table looked at it weird because they didn't know what it was.  They don't want to try anything new.  Just give them queso, jamon, and pan and they are happy.  Anyway, the sister told me to tell them it is buddin which is like a "banana type" bread.  So I did.  They tried it and loved it.  Crazy chicos.
I am going to say goodbye with two beautiful Argentina sunsets from our bedroom window.  Love and miss everyone.  See you all in seven weeks.

We ARE alive and Well

So much to say and so little time.  I am going to post photos of the construction, however, they are already outdated.  Neil said, "get them on" so we can take them off the camera and get new ones.  These are about two weeks ago. And a lot has changed.

First though, today was a sad day, we had a good-bye lunch for 9 of our new friends leaving.  Four IV's and 5 locals.  So, we had hamburgers, french fries, Coca Cola and ice cream.  That was the only nice thing about it.  We will miss them all.  One couple are leaving here to go to their home in Ecuador (for the past couple of years).  They will be there one month, then to Mexico where one of their family is serving and they will be there one month and then back to Australia where they are from and then they move to Cambodia.  So much work to do in Jehovah's service.  The other couple just had an anniversary and there was a party held for them.  It was so fun.  A bunch of singing and laughing and the boys here are so talented.  This brother plays a mean harmonica.

Others played the keyboard and guitars and sang.  We all had a great time.

We also spent the weekend at a brother and sister's house.  I work with her in the dining room and she is from Germany.  We went in service and I got to offer the tract again.  It is quite a challenge but the woman took the tract and Susie continued the conversation for a while.  I had no idea what anyone was saying after I said, "Jesuchristo."

Our circuit assembly is this weekend and it is here where we live but in Spanish.  We have had our entire circuit assembly emailed to us here and so we will be listening to it this weekend.  We have been wanting to do so, and now we get to.  Our first English meeting in a long time.

Last weekend we went to Le Tigre.  It is a very nice area about an hour away and we strolled through the city, ate our sack lunch, except Neil also had to have a Big Mac.  We walked through all the shops and had a really nice time.  It's nice to get to see some of the country while still working hard.

Well I'm going to show you the assembly hall now.

This is the track for the retracting wall.  It  takes all day to retract it.

Baptismal Pool area.  You can say "pool" here.

The school.

Well, I will post the new photos just as soon as Neil takes them.  They will be amazing because things are going so fast.

Well, the update on Gaston and Gabby.  Two funny stories.  One day he told me to put these little bowls on the table for lunch, for dessert.  Then he changed his mind after I had started and said no he wanted little plates instead.  No problem, right?  Well, instead of just saying,"Oh, I changed my mind," which he couldn't say anyway, he said, "Cindy, abort, abort, abort."  I started laughing.  Then he got worried, I think because of the last words he tried in English, and he immediately wanted to know what "abort" meant.  He heard it on Mission Impossible.  How Funny!!

Next story, I can no longer post secret stuff about him.  Gabby found my blog, hit translate and now knows everything!!!!  So I will end with a photo of one of his delicious creations.  It was breakfast food and many of the young brothers wouldn't touch it.  Too bad for them, it was delicious.

Good Night!  Till Next Week!

Love, Neil & Cindy
